Kathleen, the creative force behind Angelic Elegance by Kathleen Highfield, is an up and coming designer from Western Australia. 

  With a 17-year background in local government and early studies in Business, Fashion, and Beauty, Kathleen’s journey took a pivotal turn in 2017 when she launched her own beauty business, The Glam Boss.

Kathleen got an opportunity to venture into fashion by debuting her design in EFWA24. Her design is focused on repurposing material. Known for her DIY furniture repurposing skills, she aims to elevate her creativity by producing a bespoke, zero-waste garment, for EFWA Upcycling Challenge.

Kathleen's passion for design is deeply rooted in her family's tradition of creativity and faith. Inspired by her mother’s love for fashion, who designed and crafted outfits for herself, her sister and Kathleen when they were younger, and her grandmother who was a wedding dress maker.  To bring a full circle moment, Kathleen is now channeling that legacy into her sustainable fashion endeavors.

Kathleen’s design features cotton as the hero textile, incorporating recycled cotton bed linen, along with a repurposed headpiece and embellishments to add additional features for the garment.
