Please share a little bit about who you are and what you do in your regular life?
My name is Claire I run a Organic Hair salon and have a Hair colour distribution company. The colour is called Natulique and is the lowest tox colour in the world with Organic ingredients and supply to the whole of WA.
At what point did you begin to learn about the issue of sustainability in every area of daily life?
When my Husband and I started to research a cleaner alternative Hair colour for our salon. We discovered the high amount of toxic chemicals used within our Industry that’s when we started our clean and healthier lifestyle and Salon.
In the salon we strive to be as sustainable as possible. With Natulique its easy as all packaging is Biodegradable.
How did you meet Zuhal and what led you to become involved with EFWA 2017?
We met Zuhal through the head of fashion and design in Curtin University back in 2016. Its so exciting to be on this journey with Zuhal from the very beginning.
What was it about EFWA's mission that drew you to offer your talents in support of this international event?
To ignite and inspire and to change people’s perspective of the fashion industry with Eco-friendly and low tox materials and ingredients. That Eco fashion can be just as stylish as its fast fashion counterpart, while remaining socially and environmentally responsible. Our salon is recycles, including donating all our hair clippings to our local organic community garden.
As a part of the EFWA 2017 team, what role or roles will you be filling?
I will be working with the designers requirements to help showcase their garments and individual needs. Our Hair team will work with the storyboard provided and make sure that all hair is done correct within a quick time limit to get all Models ready so they are all on time to hit the runway.
Our mission is to help everything run smoothly and on time.
