Eco Fashion Week Australia ( EFWA) already made history November 2024 breaking the record of world’s longest Sustainable Fashion Runway on water ,set against the backdrop of renowned Busselton Jetty in WA. This extraordinary showcase featured over 50 Sustainable Fashion designers and artists represented Australian and international talents.
Australia’s longest sustainable fashion festival’s success now reaching to Europe and Canada. EFWA25 Partnered with events centre , historical Antico Spedale Del Bigallo Estate at Bagno A Ripoli in Florence and Atelier Biologico for three days of Fashion Art Exhibition , Runway Shows and Community Festival during the 16th -18th
May 2025 presented by Eco Fashion Week Australia (EFWA), traveling international Fashion Art, Runway shows of ‘Closet Of The Anthropocene ‘ will bring together fashion enthusiasts, designers and sustainability advocates from Italy a packed programme of events, set against the stunning backdrop of Florence at Bigallo Estate.

EFWA Director Dr Zuhal Kuvan Mills says the festival will continue once again provide a global stage for designers to present fashion in the new age of the Anthropocene, a term used to describe an epoch shaped by the impact of human activity on climate change. “It’s been estimated that 92 million tonnes of textile waste goes into landfill around the world every year,” says Zuhal. Cheap fast fashion means people are wearing many of their clothes just a few times before throwing them out. That comes with a huge cost for the environment, and we urgently need to find ways to make fashion more sustainable.
During the Festival EFWA Designers as well as Italian Designers will present ‘Closet of the Anthropocene’ to showcase the collections of more than 30 international and Australian designers who source sustainable materials and textiles to create unique pieces,” Zuhal says. “The stunning locales of Bigallo Estate and Florence will serve as an ideal canvas to showcase the transformative power of sustainable fashion.”
Preparations for the festival are in full swing, with Florence community groups, educational establishments, Textile Art organizations and Environmental groups are already taking part during the festival by exploring different aspects of sustainable fashion. “By curating an immersive experience that seamlessly merges the beauty of nature with cutting-edge sustainable designs, EFWA aims to inspire and engage a global audience in the conversation about ethical and eco-friendly fashion practices,” says Zuhal.
“Beyond the runway, the EFWA Sustainable Fashion Festival in Florence offers a rich tapestry of experiences. As well as sustainable fashion workshops, members of the public can attend insightful artist talks and explore exhibitions and attend runway shows that delve into the intersection of sustainable design and environmental stewardship. “ EFWA with Partners in Italy invites everyone to join the movement, celebrate sustainable fashion, and be a part of the positive change that the fashion industry needs,” she says. “We’re so excited to be bringing this amazing event to life once again as a Travailing Fashion Art Exhibition and Runway shows in Florence at beautiful Bagno a Ripoli in incredible Bigallo Estate is the perfect location to kick off the festival in May 16 th to 18t and for the coming years. About Antico Spedale Del Bigallo
