Australian Made® Best New Designer Award at EFWA2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dowerin Field Days Australian Made

IF IT’S AUSTRALIAN MADE® – SAY IT!

Sept. 20, 2018  – That is exactly what Western Australian born international label Green Embassy Australia feels is important. The brand pursued and received the right to display the registered Australian Made label from day one and have continued to maintain that status over the last four years as the brand stepped successfully onto the international fashion stage.

There are so many great reasons to buy Australian made. We think about purchasing Australian products at the supermarkets all the time -- but we often forget about sustainable fashion. Buying Australian made clothing ensures they are high quality and created ethically  by skilled Australian people. It's also a wonderful feeling to know that you are supporting an Australian designer, supporting local jobs and small businesses, and the Australian local economy.

The Australian Made logo is a green triangle with a golden kangaroo. When displayed, it assures consumers that the product is made or grown locally. It also tells you if a company is Australian owned. Almost all Australian consumers (98.8%) recognise the Australian Made Logo, and seeing it gives the vast majority of Australian consumers (88.6 %) strong confidence that a product is Australian.

Australian Made Campaign has been a proud sponsor of Eco Fashion Week Australia from the beginning because EFWA promotes sustainable, ethical and locally produced fashions. Through this partnership, a special award was created, the Australian Made Best New Designer, and this award will be handed out during events held in Port Douglas QLD from Nov. 4 – 10, and in Perth/WA from Nov. 15 – 20.

“We are grateful for our partnership with Australian Made! It’s a perfect fit,” said Zuhal Kuvan-Mills CEO of EFWA2018. “We’re delighted to be able to showcase our Australian designers to national and international audiences at Port Douglas and Perth during our November 2018 fashion weeks.”

Judged by an EFWA panel in collaboration with the Australian Made team, the winner will receive a promotional package worth up to $20,000.

To be eligible, participating designers must live and work in Australia. Only compliant products will be eligible, and the winners of the Australian Made Award will receive a free license to use the Australian Made logo, paid in full for one year. Should an existing Australian Made logo licensee win this prize, a free three-month digital advertising package will be awarded.
